Artist's Statement about

The Genesis of a Nation:
Following the Silk Road to the Gold Mountain

It has been written that Native Americans were evolved from Asian people. These ancients crossed from Siberia, over the frozen Bering Straits, 30,000 years ago, to what is now North America. The migration continued south, down the western coast and east across the Americas.

My "not-to-wear" clothing piece is a metaphor, or mirror, of both cultures. The second wave of Asians, around the mid 1800's met the Native Americans, their cousins, along the trail to the Gold Mountain.
